Dave Wing (he/him/his)

Dave was born in Kansas City, Kansas and lived his entire life in Kansas. He graduated from the University of Kansas, taught high school for four years and then graduated from KU Law. He clerked for federal judges in the District of Kansas and the 10th Circuit. He  then spent my entire career at Spencer Fane LLP primarily representing employers on all manner of employment issues. Dave retired technically in January 2020 (and actually in September 2022) and is greatly enjoying his family, including four grandchildren, as well as traveling and fly-fishing.

Dave’s parents taught him the importance of helping others. Kansas has a very strong tradition of not-for-profits helping meet the needs of those who live here. While many of these organizations focus on direct assistance to individuals, he strongly believe it is critical to change systems for the benefit of large groups of people. This is a core principle of Kansas Appleseed and he is proud to be a long-term member of the board.
