Kansas Appleseed helps fight summer hunger by advocating for increased participation in the Summer Food Service Program. This USDA-sponsored program provides free meals to youth in low-income areas while school's out.

Help Kansas kids access nutritious meals when school is out. Schools, nonprofits, churches, individuals, and even businesses can be involved in a number of ways including sponsoring a program, volunteering, leading an enrichment activity in conjunction with the meal, or donating funds to help cover operational costs.
